Top Crop operates 2 locations and is the largest pet center, garden centre and nursery in the Kootenays. While best known for these we also have an extensive line of fencing and landscaping products, irrigation and hydroponics, work and western wear as well as fashion, home décor and more. As we continue to grow we are looking for candidates who bring a positive attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn. We are on the hunt for candidates for the following areas:

• Farm, Feed and Pet Center: Full time Position– Working in our Farm and Pet area this position works with our customers, farmers and landscapers selling pet food, animal feed and fencing supplies. Animal, farming and fencing experience would be an asset.

• Garden Center: Full Time Position– Working in our garden centre this position provides knowledge and advice in areas such as gardening, fertilizers, pest control and houseplant care as well as cashiering. This position is fast paced and high energy especially in the growing season.

• Returning Student Program: Full time, seasonal– Top Crop offers a great program for student who return for Spring/Summer to work as they move through there education. Being a garden center our busiest time of year aligns almost perfectly with student spring/summer break. This allows us to partner with students who want to work when out of school. This program includes increasing wages on each returned year as well as being part of a student bonus program.

November 30th 2024 is this year’s date for Top Crop’s annual Pet pictures with Santa with services provided by Vincent Photography. Pictures are $19.99 and as always, the proceeds go to support local rescues and services. You can book your space by calling the store 250-489-4555. We are booking every 5 minutes and no one will be turned away. Top Crop and Santa are excited to see your cat, dog, chicken, horse or any other animal as we look to raise some money for a good cause with another famous community event.

Pumpkin day in the Kootenays is a day where neighboring communities come together as growers to see who can grow the largest giant pumpkin. This day has now grown into a family event where vendors, food trucks, animals, live music and kids’ events make for a day the whole family can enjoy while raising some money to support local rescues. New for 2024 Top Crop is adding a fall fair element with a number of new prizes. As always, the events are free for vendors and customers so bring a lawn chair, your family and your pets and come support local growers, vendors and artists.

All baking and fall fair items need to be brought the day before (Friday the 27th) for judging. Vendors are also required to set up (as much as possible) the day before. We will have on site security to ensure items are protected over night. Overflow parking for the day will be located in the back. Turn left at the light and left again behind Lordco and we will guide you the rest of the way.
